Loft Conversions
Often people don't realise how much can be done with what seems to be the wasted space within their loft.
Building a loft conversion has to be the best way of utilising that all important existing space within your house. There is no need to lose your garage or a section of your garden to gain that vital extra loft room. A loft conversion is also a kids' favourite as it's a great way to create a play room. Of course it doesn't have to be a kids' room, it can be a bedroom or an airy office space!
Planning Your Loft Conversion
We consider the initial stages prior to any drawing submissions extremely important. This is the stage where we spend a great deal of time with you, ascertaining exactly what you are trying to achieve with your new loft. The kind of questions to be addressed would be:
- What size would the loft space be?
- How would the all important stairs work and look?
- What kind of windows would be best, a Velux roof window or a larger dormer style window?
- How the loft conversion will look from the outside?
- Will the loft space have a bathroom or toilet area?
- What is the likelihood of the local authorities being happy with the proposal?
etc. etc.
See a Velux window example here.

Once the initial discussion process has taken place and we have a clear picture of what you want from your loft, an architect can be brought in to contribute further to the design and also produce and submit official drawings.
